Audio driver problems (or how I learned not to mess around with my audio driver’s sample rate)
Lately I have been having this weird problem with my sound: For most flash videos (youtube, other websites, local) it makes crackling noises. When I play music either in iTunes or Windows Media Player, when it crossfades the music seems to jump around during the first ~10 seconds, from a part of the song that happened about 1-2 seconds before. I never had this happen until very recently.
I already tried to roll back my drivers from the installed Realtek one to Microsoft’s default one (High Definition). After testing for a little while, I then updated it back to the Realtek drivers, and so far it’s been good except that (as far as I know at this moment) after the crossfade in iTunes it skips around for <= 2 seconds then it’s fine, although playing more songs now, it doesn’t seem to happen now.
I figured that since I have been messing around with the default sample rate, that could have been the problem, so MAYBE the driver rollback and update wasn’t necessary. Even if I have said this alot, "If it’s not broken, why fix it?" I still seem to not learn. It’s human nature.
One more thing to note: When I posted this arseload of text that you’ve just read, the sound "skipped" (I said "jumped" earlier, but who cares? :p) Stuff happens, I guess.
